The most important design feature of the Sun Shield is the double walled inner vessel. The vessel keeps both radiant and ambient heat from warming the sunscreen inside.​ Sun Shield's innovative bottle design uses a partially evacuated air chamber similar to a Thermos which keeps the sunscreen at a constant temperature and prevents it from overheating in hot conditions and prevents freezing in cold or snowy environments.

​​Temperature Regulation Control
​
The outer vessels white design reflects sunlight away from the machine, keeping the interior cool. Sun Shield also features a vent system in the back which allows the device to self regulate its temperature in extreme heat. This function is vital to prevent the chemical separation of the sunscreen which may decrease its effectiveness and absorption into the users skin.
​​​Hands-Free Motion Technology

Hands-free motion technology is both convenient and sanitary for the user. Our automated system will help regulate lines while keeping the machine clean.​ Most automated dispenser systems are equipped with Infrared (IR) to trigger the device which limits them to indoor use only however, the​ Sun Shield uses a unique and innovative motion sensor system designed specifically for the outdoors.
​​​​​Adjustable Output Control

An internal adjustable output control switch dispenses the precise amount of sunscreen per use. Set the Sun Shield to dispense as much or as little sunscreen as you would like, choose your setting from
.7 - 1.5 ml. When set to dispense .7ml per use, a new sunscreen re-fill will last for approximately 1,400 individual applications.
​​​​Long-Lasting Battery Power

The Sun Shield operates on 4x D size batteries (not included), both prolonging running time and reducing maintenance. This allows the unit to be positioned anywhere outdoors without the need for a power outlet. Depending on dispenser settings the Sun Shield will last up to 40,000 uses without the need for new batteries.
